CSR
2025
On June 21, 2025, Kinyua & Maingi Advocates conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity at Umbrella Children’s Home. The visit was guided by the firm’s commitment to community empowerment, compassion, and inclusivity. Our objective was not only to provide material support but also to inspire, engage, and celebrate with the children. The event reflected our firm’s mission to contribute positively to society, beyond legal practice. The initiative was not only productive but also enriching for both the children and our team. It created a space for meaningful interaction, where ideas were exchanged and aspirations discussed openly. The children and young adults engaged with confidence and curiosity, showing that they are already on a path toward building bright futures. Our role was to reinforce their belief that their ambitions are within reach and to share perspectives that might broaden their outlook. For us at Kinyua & Maingi Advocates, the experience was a reminder that CSR is about partnership supporting and learning from one another while strengthening the communities we are part of
2024
Kenya has experienced intense rainfall which has affected various regions including the Coast, Central including Nairobi County, Western Highlands, the Rift valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the South-Eastern and North Eastern regions according to Red Cross Kenya (2024). These floods have left a trail of destruction, displacement, and despair in their wake ranging from loss of lives and homes to disruptions in agriculture, transportation, and access to basic services such as clean water and sanitation.
Against this backdrop of adversity, communities across Kenya have demonstrated resilience and solidarity in the face of adversity. Local organizations, government agencies, and humanitarian groups have rallied together to provide relief and support to those affected by the floods, offering essential supplies, shelter, and medical assistance to the most vulnerable populations.
In this context, Kinyua & Maingi Advocates, recognizing the urgent need for assistance, embarked on a community engagement initiative to address the aftermath of the floods. By partnering with local authorities and community leaders, the firm sought to address the needs of people affected by floods by providing immediate relief and recovery support.
